Our Mission...Our mission is to introduce our children to a developmentally appropriate environment that will both engage and stimulate them to explore and discover their own worlds, preparing them for the challenges of elementary school and beyond.
Our Philosophy... Our foundation is entrenched in a background of quality education and childcare, progressive early childhood education and special education practice, and years of experience working with youth of all ages. This rich history provides the fundamental ingredients for the high quality educational and enrichment experience that we provide.
Our Perspective... We are a Christian preschool that is Bible-centered in our approach. The Bible is the intergrating factor around which our activities and subject matter are correlated. We teach God's love and promote a Christian atmosphere of respect and loving appreciation for each individual child and for the wonder of God's world.
Our Background… Destination Discovery began as the collaborative dreams of many people. It sought to work with young children in a truly interactive and engaging environment- a place where the energy of learning resonated in the air. It was our desire to take young children on a journey whose destination was their own self-discovery and the exploration of the world in which they lived. This journey included children from all walks of life, abilities and backgrounds because only then would the children grow and truly experience the richness of life that God intended for them.
Uniform Guidelines...
All uniforms are to be ordered from French Toast ˜official school wear. The orders may be called in @ 1-800-FRENCHTOAST, or ordered online @ www.frenchtoast.com. Refer to school code: QS5EDVG/Southside Preschool Initiative when ordering. We have our own page on the French Toast website.Clothing outside the approved brands and types are not allowed.
General Information About DD...
DD provides full day service for children ages 2-4, opening at 6:30am and closing at 6:00pm Monday through Friday.

Destination Discovery is a registered and approved child care facility with the Virginia Department of Social Services and as such, parents with active social service cases may be eligible for financial assistance with our program. Contact our office for additional information.

Destination Discovery in Action!
ABOVE: High school marketing students designed and implemented a "Preschool Playroom" activity as one of their class assignments. The goal was to create an atmosphere that was age and developementally appropriate for students in Destination Discovery. At the end of the day, the task was a great success!
