The Southside Baptist Christian School Secondary Ensemble Presents
The Voices of Our Heroes
In Honor of Black History Month
Southside Baptist Christian School presents an annual musical and dramatic tribute to The Voices of our Heroes in honor of Black History Month. This hour long performance includes dramatic monologues, historical information on great African-Americans past and present and soul-stirring negro spirituals. Over the past eight years, the SBCS Secondary Choral Ensemble has performed a portion of this program in several venues throughout the Richmond and surrounding areas including the King's Dominion Choral Festival, Short Pump Towne Center, Stony Point Fashion Park, Chesterfield Towne Center, the Arboretum Office Park as well as being the featured performers for the Greater Richmond Inner-Faith Youth Awards and the Richmond City Council 2008 Inaguration. The SBCS ensemble is comprised of students in grades 6-12 and over the last 10 years has developed a standard of excellence in all that they do.
